No doubt.. we’re blown away by the fabulous images from the Hubble and other space-based telescopes. They have an advantage over us Earthlings.. they don’t have to image through the Earth’s atmosphere. Still… it’s pretty amazing what can be accomplished through long-exposures and stacking with quality cameras even from Earth.

But there’s another option!.. and no matter how many photos we see that were taken by others.. nothing can beat the thrill of taking your own photos. So we decided to get a couple of cellphone adapters for our telescopes at Badlands Observatory for guests to use. It takes awhile to get everything lined up and the seeing/transparency must be extremely stable/good. But it works for the moon and brighter planets.

These photos were taken with my Samsung S8+ in July, August and September of 2021 on our 8” Celestron SE. Great for creating your own momento and immediate sharing with your friends! Inquire with us about this availability for your visit!
